Hi, I’m Emily
With over a decade of experience as a social worker and counsellor, I’ve always been passionate about supporting others to be their best selves. Over the past five years, my focus deepened into birth — through study, doula training, and birth debrief facilitator training — and I’m deeply passionate about the empowerment that comes when women have the space to be heard and held, especially when it comes to birth. It is my privilege to hold this space for women and their partners.

Emily
“Em was a beautiful facilitator to my birth debrief. She was kind, curious, respectful and encouraging. After an emergency c-section and difficult start to newborn life with time in special care and difficulty breastfeeding, Em guided me gently through each stage and got to the core emotion that grieved me the most. Verbalising that was incredibly healing and after our conversation I felt a great weight off my shoulders. Being heard is very empowering”.

“After my birth, I had a beautiful birth debrief with Emily that gave me the space to unpack and experience that’s so often overlooked once the baby arrives. Her warm, empathetic, and non judgemental nature made me feel completely safe to explore every part of my story. She gently walked with me through the details, helping to reframe and bring clarity where it was needed. It was such a grounding and healing experience”.

“Really loved our prenatal sessions with Emily. We were able to do these from the comfort of our own home in two, two hour sessions. This worked well because we had time to think about the next session & what to say/reflect on. Emily provided a relaxed, but thorough rundown on the birth procedure. Specialising in Mother and parent’s rights, natural hormones & what to expect, looking after yourself and baby, pre & post delivery. Would definitely recommend”.

“Thanks for all your support! I listened to a couple of those podcasts and already the strep B one really helped with a pretty pushy chat with a midwife this week so thank you very much! Going into this with way more peace than I would have without your session! I feel like I can ask for time to make decisions and feel braver to set my own boundaries so thank you so much, truly!”
FAQs
-
If after reading the session descriptions you are still feeling unsure about whether a session would be for you, please feel free to email me your queries and we can chat further.
-
No, sorry. I’ve found that anything shorter than 90min just isn’t enough time to make meaningful progress in the first session. Follow-up sessions are more flexible and are charged at an hourly rate.

Every session is tailored to your experience, needs, questions and goals. The space if yours to be used however you wish. During Birth Debriefs, some women like to start wherever the “beginning” is for them (e.g. falling pregnant, or labour commencing etc) and we work through from there. Others have key moments or events that occurred for them and prefer to start there. There is no right or wrong, it’s about what feels good for you.
-
Of course. You can have anyone who you feel supported by also attend the session.
-
Sessions can be held online or in person in the comfort of your own home on the Northern Beaches and North Shore of Sydney (within 20km of Brookvale).
You may want to think about a time/ place within your home that will feel most comfortable and private. Babes in arms are most welcome at the session, however many mothers prefer to attend without their children in order to be able to focus and dedicate the time uninterrupted.
-
Other than completing the pre session questions at least a week prior to your session, there is nothing else you need to prepare. You are welcome to show up exactly as you are, no preparation is required.

We can always book in another session(s).
