How I approach our sessions

I practice from a client-centred, strength based and trauma informed lens, and bring a warm, non judgemental and empathetic approach, where your story is honoured, your emotions validated and your wisdom respected. I view you as the expert of your own experience, and my role is to provide personalised care that supports your healing and empowerment.

Birth Preparation Sessions

Each individual’s journey to pregnancy and birth are so diverse, and therefore you need personalised support which reflects this.

Step into a safe, supportive space where all your thoughts and emotions are welcome, whether you're in your preconception or pregnancy journey. Together, we’ll gently explore what matters most to you, clarify your desires for birth and early parenthood and uncover the path that feels most aligned and empowering.

  • How do you know if a Birth Preparation session is for you?

Are you pregnant and have questions in relation to your birth preparation e.g the model of care you want to go with, feeling unsure of decisions in relation to elements of your pregnancy or your birth preferences/plan?

Are you seeking a birth which leaves you feeling truly respected and empowered?

Do you have a desire to set yourself up for a nourishing, nurtured and supported postpartum?

Are you pregnant with a subsequent child and feeling fearful of your upcoming birth based on previous experience?

Have you experienced loss and are navigating the thoughts and emotions that come with this?

Do you have worries about becoming a mother or feel nervous about triggers or patterns that may play out for you in parenthood?

If any of these questions resonate with you, booking a Birth Preparation session can offer the clarity, support and space you need to move forward with confidence.

Birth Debrief Sessions

Every birth story is worthy of being heard and held, as is every mother. Regardless of how birth “goes”, having the space and time to unpack and debrief your birth can bring understanding and healing.

I offer a compassionate and non-judgemental space to gently explore whatever thoughts or emotions have surfaced from your birth or pregnancy experience. No matter how you describe your journey - joyful, complex, confronting, or a mix of all - processing your story can be a powerful step toward integration, validation and a renewed sense of wholeness

  • How do you know if a birth debrief might be for you:

Do you find yourself replaying parts of your birth over and over weeks, months or years later?

Do you have questions about elements of your pregnancy/birth/postpartum or concerns about the care you did or didn’t receive?

Are you feeling deflated, disappointed, confused or frustrated by parts of your birth?

Do you feel like your birth was traumatic, however you attempt to down play the impact of the trauma?

Do any parts of your preconception, pregnancy or birth feel unresolved?

Would you like to talk through your birth with an impartial, listening ear?

Did you love your birth experience and want to discuss it with someone in a non judgemental space?

Are their elements of motherhood that feel really challenging that you would like to unpack or work through?

If any of the statements above resonate with you, a birth debrief can help you gently unpack and process your experience.

FAQs

  • If after reading the session descriptions you are still feeling unsure about whether a session would be for you, please feel free to email me your queries and we can chat further.

  • No, sorry. I’ve found that anything shorter than 90min just isn’t enough time to make meaningful progress in the first session. Follow-up sessions are more flexible and are charged at an hourly rate.

    1. Complete “Enquire now’ form

    2. I will then contact you to offer session times and send through a Intake Form/questionnaire for you to complete and return at least 1 week prior to our session.

    3. Attend session

    4. Follow up email following the session which will include with any resources discussed

  • Every session is tailored to your experience, needs, questions and goals. The space is yours to be used however you wish. During Birth Debriefs, some women like to start wherever the “beginning” is for them (e.g. falling pregnant, labour commencing etc) and we work from there. Others have key moments or events that occurred for them and prefer to start there. There is no right or wrong, it’s about what feels good for you.

  • Of course. You can have anyone who you feel supported by also attend the session. Please let me know at the time of booking if anyone else will be joining you.

  • Sessions can be held online or in person in the comfort of your own home on the Northern Beaches and North Shore of Sydney (within 20km of Brookvale).

You may want to think about a time/ place within your home that will feel most comfortable and private. Babes in arms are most welcome at the session, however many mothers prefer to attend without their children in order to be able to focus and dedicate the time uninterrupted.

  • Other than completing the pre session questions at least 1 week prior to your session, there is nothing else you need to prepare. You are welcome to show up exactly as you are.

  • We can always book in another session(s).
